The highlight of our stay at this hotel was the traditional Japanese experience. The rooms with tatami mats were spacious and comfortable, and the futon beds provided a great night's sleep. Our favorite hotel in Mashiko, staff was kind! Near to the downtown, 15 minutes on foot. Moreover, free parking was the best.

The staff at Mashikokan Satoyama Resort went above and beyond to ensure my stay was unforgettable. When I arrived without a dinner reservation, they surprised me with a delicious sushi feast delivered to my room. Not only did they assist with bike rentals and taxis, but they even gifted me a beautiful Mashiko ceramic necklace. The spacious and comfortable room provided the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. I highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional service and warm hospitality.

Friendly staff and relaxing onsen
Spent New Year’s Eve at a nearby hotel with family. Visited this hotel for the onsen, and the experience was pleasant. The staff were welcoming and helpful with showing us around the facility. The onsen was well-maintained and offered a scenic view of the mountain. There were also free towels and shower caps available. The location was easy to find and was just a short walk from the train station. We also appreciated the traditional Japanese décor of the building.
The biggest downside was that the dining options were limited. We had to order meals in advance and ended up having to wait for our food for quite a while.

Spent a lovely Christmas at a traditional Japanese hotel surrounded by picturesque countryside. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Loved soaking in the hot tub bath and shower, which was outdoors at the back of the room and took in the stunning views. The food was absolutely delicious – the breakfast and dinner were amazing, with a wide variety of dishes that were well presented.
The hotel is a bit far from the town, so it may be difficult to get around without a car. It’s not possible to walk to the town from the hotel, but renting a bike from the hotel is a good option.

An exceptional traditional Japanese accommodation surrounded by picturesque countryside and warm staff. The spacious room with tatami mats was exquisite, with comfy futon beds laid up every day. The outdoor hot tub bath and shower were a distinctive and cozy feature. The kind staff drove guests into town for visits. The delicious traditional Japanese cuisine, breakfast and dinner, was beautifully presented. The hot spring baths were a haven, along with an in-house gift shop and open-air bath made of pottery.
The hotel may be busy with tour groups at times.
